Andrew Branch has been a design leader since the pre-UXtoric times. He does not think that people really read bios, and therefore, his bio is too honest.
Andrew often wishes he could start over in his career as a welder, but now that he’s over 45 and has kids and big responsibilities, he’s pretty much stuck. He is also horrible at welding.
Currently, as the Sr. Director of UX at Rev, Andrew has been pretending to be excited about AI technology and how it’s taking away some of his most favorite aspects of UX design, forcing him to do things humans are still good at - like speaking to other people and making decisions. Fortunately, Rev is a tool Andrew loves designing for. The way Rev is solving communication problems gives him the enthusiasm he needs to not sit around wishing he was a welder, even when he cannot find his Adoral.
With a background in anthropology, Andrew’s perspective is centered in user behavior, empathy, and evidence-driven decision-making. But his acadmic pursuits (formal and informal) are rivaled only by his commitment to being an introvert. As a result of this unique crossover, he is a passionate advocate for integrating design and research practices in distributed and remote environments.
Andrew is a co-founder of Front and, years ago, started a small IxDA chapter which eventually evolved into what is now Product Hive. Andrew is extremely proud to have helped lay the foundations of these two amazing organization, but he is far too tired to be an active participant in either of them anymore.
Andrew lives in Spanish Fork, Utah with a gaggle of children and too many pets. He likes the color pink.
In it's 10th year, Front is a sell-out event, with a 1,000 annual attendees from across the country and around the world. Join us at the Front to share, learn, and be inspired to create amazing products.
